Out There Travel Care provide the personal care services you need when visiting Cairns and Far North Queensland. Many of our valued clients enjoy the benefits of their Companion Card when travelling in and around Cairns.


If you are not familiar with it, the Companion Card is a great little resource you can use to reduce the cost of participating tours. Some of our tour partners offer your Tour Companion or Carer a free or discounted place on the tour.


We recommend you let our booking team know you have a Companion Card so that you can enjoy any discounts or freebies that are on offer. Visit here or ask our booking expert to advise on which tours accept your Companion Card.

“The benefits of having a Companion Card”

A Companion Card can help you with the costs of getting out and about by providing a second ticket at no charge or at a discounted rate for your companion/ carer when assistance to actively participate at an affiliated venues/activity is required.


“Who can apply for a Companion Card?”

An individual who has a significant, permanent disability who always requires ‘attendant care support’ from their companion when partaking in most community venues and activities.


“Who is considered a Companion?”

A Companion is classified as a paid or non-paid partner, family member, friend and personal carer who provides attendant care support. Your Out There Travel Care carer can use your Companion Card.


“What is an affiliated venue/activity?”

Over 4,200 businesses and organisations across Australia have registered to be part of the program, providing free access for your Companion or Out There Travel Care carer.

Tips:

- Always have your Companion Card on hand, otherwise you may not get in

- Companion Card is a photo ID of the person requiring assistance only

- Always check accessibility of venue/activity at time of booking as acceptance of the Companion Card does not indicate that the venue/activity is accessible.

- You must be a permanent resident of Australia

- Cards are issued for 5 years by your home state/territory, can be use nationwide

- Booking fees are waived

- Companion Card can be used on public transport
